About Jim Groleau
Most of my career was spent in sales management for manufacturers which involved weekly travel in the US and Canada. While being away, I would often follow photographers from New England and enjoy the images of home. I was mostly drawn to photography in the southern coast of Maine where my family would spend the majority of May through October vacationing. Seeing these photos would bring me back to places I loved best and the fond memories of the special moments my wife and I had with our children and now grandchildren.
NH being home, our backyard offered beautiful scenes of wildlife and interesting landscape during all the 4 seasons. I eventually purchased my first DSLR camera and began my best attempt to capture the surroundings. I found this hobby not only pleasurable, but therapeutic as well. Those I shared the images with were quite impressed with the results.
Fast forward to 2021, my wife and I made our permanent home in Kennebunkport Maine and then I retired September 2022. During this time I began diving deeply into photography. This was when I started getting much more local recognition and was strongly encouraged to turn my photography hobby into a business. My photos have been used in countless local events and featured in several Tourist and Town magazines. What gives me the greatest satisfaction is receiving genuine compliments from people following me as I once did others. I truly hope you enjoy the images as much as I did taking them.
